Occlusal Accuracy of Digitally Manufactured Removable Dentures

A quick explanation of the image here.  Just for fun I decided to use this image for this post.  I told an AI program "create an image of complete dentures" and this is what it give me on the first try.  Anyone who understands dentures, as most of you do, will realize that these aren't *right*.  There are several errors that the image generation AI made.

However, that's not to say that digital dentures are a poor substitute for their analog cousins.  Actually it's looking like digital dentures are better than analog.  A recent study has discovered 'digitally manufactured dentures using subtractive techniques were superior in occlusal accuracy".

For those of you not familiar with the term, 'subtractive' means CAD/CAM milled dentures.  This study doesn't apply to 3D printing.  However, if I come across a study on that subject, I'll be sure to let you know.

The study is titled "Occlusal accuracy of digitally manufactured removable dentures: a systematic review of in vitro studies". You can read it and download a pdf with this link.
