iTero Element 5D Evaluation is Beginning!

Somewhere about the year 2010 or so, I decided to explore the concept of digital impressions.  I had been involved with CEREC for several years by that time, but they still hadn't created the ability to send cases to a lab... yet.  And that was what I really wanted.  I wanted the speed and the efficiency of digital impressions, but I still wanted to include the lab in some of my cases.

I explored my options and settled on the then very young iTero system.  Since then, I've been through iTero upgrades, worked on beta testing, and grown my practice.  Now we are going to be doing a full on Complete Test Drive of the newest iTero unit the iTero Element 5D.  I just received word that the unit is on  its way and should arrive today!  I'll be reporting back here on a regular basis, but I'll also be sending photos our from my Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts.  You can find me on Twitter and Instagram be searching jflucke and obviously you can search me on Facebook.

I'm really excited about seeing what the new iTero can do so I'll be making frequent social media posts.

Here is how the company describes its new system:

  • One imaging system does it all.
  • 3D digital impressions. Crisp intraoral scanning. Treatment simulation. And more – without harmful radiation1.
  • Advanced technology to scan internal tooth structure.
  • The first 3D intraoral scanner with Near-Infrared Imaging (NIRI) technology to aid your diagnostic workflow. Aids in detection and monitoring of interproximal caries above the gingiva in real time.
  • Get patients excited about their new smiles could look like.
  • The Invisalign® Outcome Simulator keeps patients engaged and treatments on track1.
  • Show your patients how their treatment is progressing with iTero TimeLapse technology.
  • When patients can see their changes over time, they’re more likely to stay engaged and take better care of their oral health. Which helps you to keep an eye on treatment progress, for better outcomes.
  • Work more efficiently with your lab.
  • Send restorative STL files directly to your lab or export them from your iTero cloud account.
