A Little Big for Your Stocking... but a Drone Could be the Perfect Gift this Christmas

As many of you know, I am a drone flyer.

I bought mine around 2 years ago and have had an absolute blast with it ever since.

I would suggest doing a little research on one before purchasing, in fact I would even suggest buying a less expensive model before buying one of the more expensive models as it takes a bit of learning before you get really good with one.

I was lucky in that my past history of gaming and working with 3D software helped me more than I realized it would.

We are now hearing all kinds of stories and seeing all kinds of photos and videos being filmed by these flying drones & it is a real kick to be part of it.  The process started with me reading an article in the geek magazine Wired and the rest for me is history.  It has also propelled someone from the magazine to leave and run his drone company.  Read that story here.

There are lots of companies out there and lots of models to choose from.  If you are a regular reader, you've even seen some of them here.  However, I love the company that Chris Anderson left Wired to pilot.  It's called 3D Robotics.  In my opinion, if you like the idea of really getting into this, the company Chris started is the way to go.  Check out their website here.

Heck, someday Santa may be delivering using one of these...
