Amazon Prime has been around for a while now. It's a subscription based service that costs $79 a year. In return members get free 2 day shipping, discounted 1 day shipping, and access to Amazon's Video on Demand service.
Now comes word that Google is putting together a competitor to Prime that will be called "Google Shopping Express" and should be $10-15 less than the Amazon service.
I could re-package what I read, but really Tech-Crunch has done a great job of describing the situation & what users can expect.
