Google has Music Search Function Online Now

It's amazing how sometimes posts seem to come in pairs. Yesterday was a post about Google and today I'll follow that with another. Google is now venturing into music search.

The idea is a good one for music lovers. Going to the search page brings up a music specific home page and allows the user to query lyrics, artists, etc. Through agreements with many labels and online retailers, links are provided to hear samples and actually buy the music. There is even partnering with Pandora that suggests other artists that are similar to the one you have searched for.

Called "Discover Music" the service will premier in the U.S. today. No word on when other parts of the planet will have access. I've tinkered with it for a few minutes and it looks pretty slick.
