Apple to Launch iRadio Service Week of June 10th (Potentially)

I love Apple rumors.  The company does a great job of keeping things under wraps… and by doing so they frequently get more PR by *not* saying anything than they would be screaming it from the mountaintops.  Heck, I must have predicted the Beatles were coming to iTunes at least 3 times before it happened.

So, with all things Apple, one must take this rumor with the proverbial grain of salt, however because it is hitting in multiple places, I'm giving t his one a pretty good chance of actually happening.  The main reason for that is that supposedly Apple inked a deal with Warner very recently.

The big rumor is that a product to be called "iRadio" will be coming to iTunes and it will compete with Spotify.  The June 10th date is important as that is the first day of Apple's WWDC (World Wide Developer's Conference).

There are roadblocks aplenty to this as supposedly the labels want more money from cash heavy Apple than they get from Padora and other streaming companies who don't have the financial wherewithal.

The best part is that the service is supposed to be supported by ads & should not cost a dime to listeners.

The one question I have is:  Doesn't Apple usually "set"the bar and not run after a market after it is already established?  Just saying'...
