Is Microsoft the Next to Move to 2 Step Verification?

We seen hackers becoming more and more sophisticated and some companies and banks are implementing 2 step verification to help prevent them.

The idea is when you want to authorize a computer to access your data, a code is sent to your mobile phone.  The code must be entered in your computer within a specified time or access is denied.

While no system is perfect, this one works pretty well.  It has been used by Google for a while now and just in the last 6 months or so it has become available from Apple.

The graphic above has been circulating on the Internet.  Of course it could be a hoax, but given the number of companies moving to 2 step, my gut tells me it's true.  No word on when it will arrive, but as soon as it is, I'd sign up for it...
