Pandigital Handheld Scanner is a Winner!!!

Pandigital Handheld Scanner.jpg

Back on July 5th, I created a post about the Pandigital Handheld Scanner that I had received as a gift.

The idea was to help me decrease my clutter by allowing me to scan all the extra odds & ends paper in my life.  That way it could be stored and cataloged on my Mac… making it totally portable and in many cases stored on The Cloud.

Well, after a couple of weeks, I've got to call this experiment a complete and unparalleled success.  Clutter is down immensely and my reading and follow-up have increased, better than I had hoped.

The best part is that the scanner is so incredibly portable.  It fits easily into my laptop bag which ensures that I will take it everywhere I go.  This means that even when I'm on the road lecturing, as I was on Friday at the Dentrix Business of Dentistry Conference, I am capable of scanning quickly and easily.

I've got to tell you that this is working out even better than I had hoped.  All you have to do is lay a page on a hard surface and then roll the scanner over it.  The images are saved on a Micro SD card.  The scanner comes with a SD converter that holds the Micro SD card so whenever I get a chance, I simply put the Micro in the SD converter and then slide the SD converter card into the SD slot on my MacBook Pro.  The card is immediately available to be accessed by the Mac and I can then copy the images to wherever I need them.

By storing them in The Cloud, I can then access them with my iPhone, iPad, or Xoom Android tablet.

This is quick, easy, and efficient.  I can't imagine going back to the way it was before.  The difference in organization is that profound.

  1. Hey John,
You should have looked at the Camscanner app for the iPhone. Snap a picture and convert to PDF and then upload to Evernote, Dropbox, Google Docs etc. You can even email the info. Very easy to use and one less thing to carry,

  3. Hey Marty, I have the Camscanner & it works well, but the pandigital is a *true* scanner that can quickly and easily scan anything!

Camscanner is great for receipts and the like when I'm on the road... which is where I think it shines. Pandigital is just absolutely amazing for doing what a true flatbed scanner does, only it fits in my laptop bag!

  4. Hi John...I'm late to the party so to speak, hoping you can fill in an information gap for me. I just received my refurbished MacBook Pro and ordered a Pandigital Scanner. My card slot is an ExpressCard/34 slot, are they compatible, do I need to purchase another type of reader etc.
I know this isn't the reason you blog but you kept coming up as I searched for an answer.
Thanks - if you can or can't help - Judy
