Keep Track of Your Kids for $100

Over the past few years, I've seen a few GPS devices come on the market that can keep track of children. The idea is a good one. Put a GPS device in a pocket or in a backpack and if a youngster wanders off, they can be located. It's a nice thing to give parents some piece of mind.

The main drawback to these devices has been cost. Now Best Buy is selling a device called the "Little Buddy" that retails for a more affordable $100. The device uses a combination of GPS and cell phone towers to help locate itself. The device can be located using a special webpage, which should (although I'm not sure) require a user name and password.

The device will even send text messages when the device leaves a certain area or doesn't arrive at a certain area by a specified time.

This is an interesting idea. I'd love to get a device to try out.
