Is a larger Kindle on the horizon?

Rumors are swirling of the possibility of a larger footprint Kindle device being announced this week. The idea for it seems to be that reading magazines and newspapers is easier on a larger screen since it more adequately mimics the feel and reading experience of the original format.

With so many newspapers and magazines suffering now the hope is that publishing them in a format that allows much more cost effective distribution can improve profits. The initial rumor for this device came from the idea of providing textbooks in an e-reader format, but has grown from there.

More info from the NY Times.
