Kindle 2.0 on the Near Horizon?

Well it looks like Amazon may be getting ready to take the wraps off the Kindle 2.0 e-book reader. The device has been rumored for quite a while now with pictures appearing as early as late summer/early fall 2008.

Now Amazon has announced a press conference for February 9th in New York. The last time Amazon had a press conference in New York? You guessed it... the day they announced Kindle 1.0 The company is being very tight lipped about what the meeting is about, but the rumors last fall was the the next version of Kindle would be appearing in the first quarter 2009.

While I love my Kindle, I'd be less than honest if I didn't say there are things about it I'd like to change. One of the things I'm interested in is will there be a trade in for old devices? Not likely, but I can hope.

The press conference is set to be held at the Morgan Library in midtown. A library for a press conference? Do we even need to speculate on what this means?
