First Android Phone to Launch 9-23

Last year, Google announced the Android initiative. An open source code to power the next generation of mobile phones. Since then we've heard occasional murmuring about the platform and devices, but nothing definite. Now comes word that on September 23 T-Mobile is having a launch party to showoff their first Android device. For the record, this is also the first Android device that the general public has ever seen.

What can it all mean? It's all speculation at this point, but Google has a history of innovation that tends to stick around. An open source OS for mobile can only mean innovation. Let's see what September 23rd brings.
